Funeral services for Myrtle Mitchell Richardson are 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Kent Cochran will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from 12 p.m. until the time of service.

Mrs. Richardson, 89, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, died Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Landmark Nursing Home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Eros, Louisiana to Marshall Walker and Minnie May Gray Mitchell.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Redwood Baptist Church in Slaughter, Louisiana. She was a loving wife, mother of six sons, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Edward Richardson; son, Donald Richardson; great-grandson, T.J. Richardson; brother, James Mitchell; sister, Margie Johnson; and a special aunt and uncle that raised her and her siblings, George and Nancy “Nannie” Sullivan.

Survivors are her sons, Ronald Richardson, Michael Richardson and wife, Dorinda, Gary Richardson and wife, Joanne, James Richardson and David Richardson and wife, Wendy; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
