Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Allen Walley are 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation was 5 until 9 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service and will lie in state at Macedonia from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday.
Mrs. Walley, 95, died at her residence May 2, 2015. She was born April 15, 1920, in Brookhaven to Henry Houston Allen and Lizzie Walker Allen. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Mrs. Walley was a graduate of New Sight High School. It was there she developed interest in sports; playing basketball and track events and continued while a student at Copiah Lincoln Community College. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics from the University of Southern Mississippi. She retired from teaching after 37 years in the public schools of Mississippi and later was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at Co-Lin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elgin Kelloy Walley, of Brookhaven; her parents; brothers, Henry Spurgeon Allen and William Curtis Allen of Jackson; and son-in-law, Jimmy L. Clements.
Survivors are her son, Dr. Kenneth Walley and wife, Rebecca; daughter, Karen Walley Clements; and two grandchildren, Kenneth Walley Jr. and wife, Dr. Debbie Walley, and Richard Allen Walley.
