Ross qualified for National Tournament, Wolfpack finish fourth in Region Tournament

LAUREL – Copiah-Lincoln Community College golfer Jacob Ross of Brookhaven has qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association’s National Tournament to be held May 19-22 at Goose Pond Colony Country Club in Scottsboro, Alabama. Ross was second in the state in scoring average at 72.90.
The Wolfpack as a team, finished in fourth place in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament held at Laurel Country Club. Mississippi Gulf Coast won the title firing a two-day total of 599 (291 – 308) and will represent Region 23 in the NJCAA National Tournament.
Finishing in second place was Meridian at 611 (300 – 311) followed by East Mississippi at 620 (312 – 308). The Wolfpack finished fourth at 632 (312 – 320) followed by Jones County 722 (350-372).
Individually, Ross led the way for the Wolfpack tied for eighth at 153 (77-76). Sophomore Ryan Desormeaux of Broussard, Louisiana at 155 (78-77) followed by Taylor Jelks of Centreville at 162 (79-83) and Will Lee of Brookhaven 162 (78-84) and Gregory Causey of Petal at 168 (81-87).
