Philadelphia ends Lady Bulldogs season

PHILADELPHIA – Marsha Hunt’s big game helped Philadelphia end Franklin County’s softball season with a 14-2 win Thursday night.
Philadelphia conquered the series with a 2-0 sweep that derailed the Lady Bulldogs’ Cinderella season in the second round of the Class 3A State Softball Playoffs.
Hunt led all batters with a home run, a double and two singles.
For Franklin, Alyssa Case and Macy Ziskin had two singles apiece. Case also had an RBI.
FCHS held a 2-0 lead that was short lived as Philadelphia exploded to take a 3-2 edge after one inning of play.
Philadelphia added 11 runs in the bottom half of the fourth inning that ended all hopes for the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Tornadoes provided 15 hits alone in that inning.
Jada White added three singles for Philadelphia in the victory. The Lady Tornadoes advance to play St. Patrick in the third round of the playoffs.
