Brookhavenites will have the opportunity to flash back to the 80s with this year’s Relay for Life.

Community Manager for Relay for Life Mid-South Division Cindy Ashmore said the theme this year is “The 80s Strike Back for a Cure” and DJ Bryan Turnage from Sound by Bryan will be “blasting us all back into the past as we rock out to the best loved tunes of the 80s.”

Relay for Life is set for 3 p.m. Saturday at the Exchange Club Park in Brookhaven.

The menu for the event includes hamburger baskets with chips, fish plates with fries, chili dogs, chicken-on-a-stick, popcorn, pickles, nachos, sno-cones, ice cream sundaes and soft drinks.

The night’s schedule begins at 4:30 p.m. with registration for survivors followed by a survivor reception starting at 5 p.m. The ceremony opens at 6 p.m. with an introduction of 2014 Crowns of Hope Pageant Winners at 7 p.m. Then at 9 p.m. there is the luminaria ceremony followed by an awards ceremony and clean up at 10 p.m.

The Exchange Club rides will also be running from 6 to 9 p.m. starting immediately after the national anthem.
