Brookhaven falls to PRC and Petal

The Brookhaven Panthers drop a pair of varsity games in baseball action Friday and Saturday.
In Friday contest, the Panthers fell to the Pearl River Central Blue Devils 11-0 in Region 6-5A action.
In Saturday game, Brookhaven lost to the Petal Panthers 13-1 and finished in a 2-all tie with the West Lincoln Bears before having to call the game due to rain.
The Panthers (6-13, 5-3) will be in action Monday as they host the Natchez Bulldogs for senior night. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m.
PRC 11, Brookhaven 0
In Friday night action in Carriere, the Blue Devils completed the sweep against the Ole Brook Panthers winning in a five-inning contest.
Tate Walley absorbed the setback on the rubber for Brookhaven with two strikeouts and six walks. Tyler Mixon (1K, 0BB) pitched one inning in relief.
Blaine Moak recorded the only hit for the Panthers at the plate with a single.
Petal 13, Brookhaven 1
The Petal Panthers defeated the Ole Brook Panthers in a five-inning contest.
Blaine Moak suffered the setback on the mound for Brookhaven with no strikeouts and one walk. Dalton Fortado (2K, 4BB) and Reese Reynaud (0K, 2BB) also saw action in relief.
Darius Bryant, Connor Smith, Clint Stephens and Reese Reynaud were the top hitters at the plate for Brookhaven with a single each.
Brookhaven 2, West Lincoln 2
The Panthers and the Bears played in a late afternoon contest at Moyer Field and ended up calling off the game in the third inning tied at 2-all due to rain.
Penn Wilson (5K, 0BB) pitched for the Panthers. Hunter Maxwell (0K, 2BB) pitched for the Bears.
Brookhaven was lead at the plate by Brandon Henyard and Scotty Bateman with a single each.
Brice Temple, Hunter Maxwell and Alex Neal were leading the Bears offense with a single apiece.
