Tournament basketball time is upon us once again as teams get set to battle and make a run in the state basketball playoffs. Local fans will have plenty of action to watch as Brookhaven hosts the Region 6-5A tournament and Lawrence County hosts the Region 7-4A tournament.

Other local basketball fans will have to travel to support their school in their regional tournaments. West Lincoln and Enterprise will have to travel to Liberty to play in the Region 7-2A Tournament at Amite County High School, starting Tuesday.

The Bogue Chitto Bobcats will also be on the road Tuesday as they visit Vicksburg to participate in the Region 7-1A tournament at St. Aloysius Catholic School.

Wesson, Franklin County and Hazlehurst will also have to travel to Woodville for Region 7-3A tournament action at Wilkinson County High School.

In MAIS action,  the Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars will be in action on the road as they travel to Canton Academy to take part in the State AA Tournament. The Lady Cougars will enter as the No. 4 seed out of the South AA tournament.

In Region 6-5A,  the Brookhaven Panthers finished No. 1 and will play No. 4 Pearl River Central, Monday at 8:30 p.m.

The Lady Panthers are seeded No. 2 and will play Monday at 7 p.m. against No. 3 Pearl River Central Lady Blue Devils.

In Region 7-1A,  the Bogue Chitto Lady Cats is seeded as the No. 2 seed and play Thursday in the second round against the winner of the Natchez Cathedral and MSD girls. The Bobcats are schedule to play Tuesday in the opening round against MSD at 6 p.m.

In Region 7-2A,  Loyd Star, West Lincoln and Enterprise will be on the road to play in their region tournament at Amite County.

The Loyd Star Hornets and the Amite County Lady Trojans are seeded No. 1 in the Tournament. The Loyd Star Lady Hornets and the Bassfield Boys are the No. 2 seed teams. These teams have earned an opening round bye and will start action Thursday.

West Lincoln Bears and Lady Bears finished third in the region and will play Tuesday in the opening round against East Marion at 4 and 5:30 p.m.

Enterprise finished fifth in both the girls and boys race. The Lady Jackets will face Bassfield at 7 p.m. and the Jackets take on Amite County at 8:30 p.m.

In Region 7-3A,  Wesson, Franklin County and Hazlehurst will be visiting Wilkinson County for tournament action.

The Franklin County girls and the Wesson Boys are seeded at No. 2 in the tournament and received a bye in the opening round. They will start action on Thursday at 7 and 8:30 p.m.

The Wesson Lady Cobras, Hazlehurst Lady Indians, Franklin County Bulldogs and the Hazlehurst Indians will be in action Wednesday for the opening round of the tournament.

In Region 7-4A,  the South Pike Lady Eagles and the McComb Tigers will be seeded No. 1 in the tournament. The Lawrence County Cougars and the McComb Lady Tigers are seeded as the No. 2 seed teams and earned an the opening round bye and will start action Thursday.

The Lawrence County Lady Cougars and the North Pike girls and boys teams will be in action Tuesday to kick off the tournament in Monticello.
