Funeral Services for Kay Elton Kyzar of Paris, Texas are 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Paris First Assembly of God with burial in Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015. The Rev. Mickey Ellis and the Rev. Ron Short will officiate. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kyzar, 70, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at Cancer Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on Dec. 11, 1944, in Brookhaven to Darce Elton and Myrtle Lee Dyess Kyzar.

Mr. Kyzar was employed by Kellwood Industries in Brookhaven and moved with the company in 1969 to Idabel, Oklahoma where he met his future wife, Martha Story. He and Martha moved to Paris in 1989 and was employed by Kimberly Clark as a shipping and receiving employee. He served with the National Guard from 1967 until 1971 and was a member of North Star 8 Square Dance Club.

Mr. Kyzar enjoyed spending time with friends and family, loved music especially country and western, jazz and gospel, square dancing and country dancing. He also enjoyed watching football on TV and the Discover and History channels. He was a quiet man but a solid rock to those who knew him and depended on him. He was very well respected, loved and will be missed. When he went home to be with the Lord he was listening to his respiratory therapist give her near death experience and her account of Heaven. After his death many of the hospital staff sang “Amazing Grace” in his room with family and friends.
