Graveside Services for Gus Watkins Frith of Meadville are 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Midway Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chancy Frith, Chad Frith, Hoby Mullins, Brant Mullins, Kolby Frith, Danny Harold Ready and Johnathan Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Murray Jr. and Neal Murray. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Franklin Funeral Home and will continue on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Frith, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at his residence. He was born on July 22, 1932, in Harrisonburg, Louisiana to Corry Herbert Sr. and Minnie Davis Frith.
He was a retired truck driver who worked many years at Ethel Oil Company and Wal-Mart. He owned and operated hi sown gravel business. He was in the US Army. He loved spending time with his family. After his retirement, he enjoyed RVing and worked several years as a gate guard for oil companies in Texas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a loving, gentle man who was always looking out for others. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wives, Margie Aswell Frith and Bertha “Toune” Castel Frith; brothers, Corry Frith Jr. and Edward Wiley Frith; and sisters, Mae Frith Peoples and Betty Frith Scott.
Survivors are his wife, Joyce Ann Carlock Frith; sons, Bobby Frith, Corey Frith, Breland Frith and wife, Julie, and Ray Carlock and wife, Janet; daughters, Debra Frith Zeagler, Jena Frith Mullins and husband, Tony, Yvette Frith, Yvonne Frith Hartzog and husband, Kevin, Evelyn Carlock Higgins and husband, Mike, Linda Carlock Long and husband, Roger, Toni Carlock Connelly and husband, Paul; brothers, Tom Frith and wife, Zora, Albert Frith and wife, Sharyn, Charlie Hodges and wife, Deborah, Raymond Nicholson and wife, Diane; sisters, Ann Frith Marchese and Connie Sue Frith Harris; 26 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
