Funeral Services for Robert George Wand of Brookhaven and a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, are 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at Greenoaks Funeral Home with burial in Easthaven Cemetery on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 at noon. Greenoaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wand

Visitation is Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, from 1 p.m. until time of service at Greenoaks Funeral Home.

Mr. Wand, 88, died Sept. 17, 2014.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II and worked for Chevron Corporation for over 30 years. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Otto and Mary Wand; daughter, Kay Valentine Wand; and brothers, Floyd and Clifford Wand.

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Robbie Valentine Wand; children, Robert “Bert” Wand, James Nash Wand and wife, Sandra, and Nancy Wand Polwort and husband, Spencer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society.
