Ebony Clark was sentenced Monday to the maximum term of 20 years for manslaughter in the stabbing death of Datavion Smith on Dec. 23, 2012, in Brookhaven.
Smith was 17 and Clark was 21 at the time of the stabbing. She will be serving her full sentence at the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Prior to the manslaughter conviction Friday, Clark was convicted of embezzlement on March 24 in another case. The court waited to sentence her for both crimes together on Monday. She was sentenced to 10 years, with five years suspended, on the embezzlement charge.
The manslaughter sentence and the embezzlement sentence will be served consecutively; therefore, Clark will spend 25 years at the MDOC and five years after on probation.
