Julius Bentley “J.B.” McCarroll, 63, of Wesson, passed away May 2, 2025, at his residence after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer with his devoted wife by his side. He was born in Hammond, Louisiana, on May 30, 1961, to Julius Quincy McCarroll and Dorothy Stubbs Lamonte.
J.B. was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His life was defined by his love of the outdoors and his unwavering commitment to his family and friends.
J.B. was a Christian who was passionate about sharing his faith with anyone he came in contact with. He especially loved investing time in teaching children’s Sunday School and Mission Friends.
He was a carpenter by trade as well as a taxidermist who took pride in his work in both areas. The joy of his life was his family, especially his grandsons who will miss him deeply. His absence from our lives will leave a void that can never be filled, but we take solace in knowing he is healed and at peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our hearts go with you and our souls wait to join you.
He is preceded in death by his father, Julius McCarroll and stepfather, Joeseph Lamonte.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Dana McCarroll; mother, Dorothy Lamonte; children, Lindsey D. Byrd (Taylor), C.J. Duckworth (Candace), Ben McCarroll (Madison), and Summer M. Bonnecaze (Wayne); brothers, Sam Lamonte and Joe Lamonte (Robin); sisters, Sandra L. Sherman (Joe) and Lisa M. Barnett (Jerry); 6 grandchildren, Liam Byrd, Landon Byrd, Jax McCarroll, Beau McCarroll, Ledger Bonnecaze, and Bennett Bonnecaze; as well as 9 nieces and nephews and 6 great-nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
