A celebration of life will be held for Mr. Carlos Bernard Douglas at 12 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Carlos Bernard Douglas, 82, of Brookhaven, died April 19, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Brookhaven, Oct. 29, 1942, to Hayward Lamar Douglas and Annie O’Neta Burns Douglas.

Mr. Douglas was a graduate of Enterprise High School. He was Mr. EHS of 1960. He was a retired dairy farmer for over 35 years. He raised Quarter horses and loved to fish. He enjoyed restoring his old antique cars. He had a love for animals and his American bulldog, Zach.

Carlos was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he and his wife, Patricia, raised their boys after they married 59 years ago. He was so proud of his two boys and bragged on them way too much. He loved his precious granddaughters, Jacie, Taylor, and Bailey, and grandson, Jakson. He loved watching them play sports. Carlos couldn’t wait to see the Pearly Gates.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia Lofton Douglas; children, Justin Lamar Douglas (Beth Marie Douglas) and Jason Allen Douglas (Leslie Deanna Douglas); and four grandchildren, Jacie Ashlyn Douglas, Taylor Addison Douglas, Bailey Marie Douglas, and Jakson Lamar Douglas.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Diane Herring, William and Nancy Moore, Michael Van Dorin, Gary Douglas, Macky Dunaway, and Charlotte Adams. They would also like to thank the staff of Trend Health and Rehab, Compassus Hospice, and all of his many friends that loved and cared for him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery fund or Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.
