David and Alethea Eisner announce
the engagement and approaching wedding
of their daughter Audrey Eisner,
of Franklin, Tennessee, to Taylor
Pendley, of Brookhaven. She is the
granddaughter of Barbara Adams and
the late Floyd Adams, and Jean Eisner.
Pendley is the son of Terry and Deana
Pendley, and Richard and Hope
Reeves. He is the grandson of James
and Julia Pendley, Mark and Carol
Foster, Dean and Linda Lail, and
Mickey Reeves and the late Billie
Lynn Reeves.
The bride-elect is a 2017 graduate
of Centennial High School and a 2022
graduate of Mississippi State University
with a degree in architecture. She
is employed as an architecture project
coordinator.
The Groom-to-be is a 2016 graduate
of Brookhaven High School and a 2020
graduate of Mississippi College with a
marketing degree. He is employed as a
banking portfolio manager.
The couple will exchange vows on
May 31, 2025, in Jackson, where they
currently live.

The March fifth meeting of the
Matinee Musicale Club was held in
loving memory of Mrs. Dan Wynn.
The performers used the dual pianos
in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jeff Doremus. Performers for the
morning included Mrs. Wil Womack,
Mrs. Jeff Doremus, Mrs. Blake
Scafidel and Mrs. Bill Lofton on piano,
all members of the club. The program
began with a rousing version
of Stars and Stripes Forever with 6
hands. The remainder of the program
included selections by Bach, Bizet,
Holst, Rocherolle and a traditional
British folk song. The program received
an enthusiastic standing ovation
from the club membership.
Assisting Mrs. Doremus serving
cake and coffee were Mrs. Del Loy,
Mrs. Donald Driskell and Mrs. Patrick
Lowery.

literacy and reading, Lawrence
County School Board Attorney
Nate Armistad recognized literacy
stars from across the district at
the March School Board meeting.
These students received prizes
from Armistad to help further
their passion for reading. High
scorers on the Fourth-Grade 2023-
2024 MAAP Reading Assessment
were recognized. Each is pictured
with Superintendent Allen Barron.
