Doneyel Chiquita Fisher passed away on February 1, 2025 at UMMC in Jackson, Mississippi.
Born on September 16, 1973, Doneyel pursued her education at Loyd Star, Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Antonelli College, and the University of Arizona. She built a career in the medical field, most recently working remotely as a Medical Coding and Billing specialist for several hospitals. Previously, she worked at KDMC Orthopedic Clinic and served as a Unit Secretary in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at UMMC.
Doneyel was known for her intelligence, kindness and compassion. She had a vibrant personality and never met a stranger. Her sense of humor and ability to bring joy to those around her left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her spouse, Albert S. Lyons; daughter, Jiequele Rayonce Mackabee; son, Christain Nasyre Lyons; grandson, Nolan Zahir Carter; father, Donald Fisher Sr.; mother, Bernice Butler; siblings, Beltane Wolfe, Rebecca Fisher Allen and Joel Samson Fisher; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jonathan David Fisher; niece, Shaniqua Alexandria Allen; grandmother, Ella Bernice Johnson; grandfather, James Butler; grandmother, Ethel Mae Brooks Butler.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm at R. E. Tyler Funeral Home in Brookhaven, Mississippi. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven. Following the burial, a Celebration of Life will be held from 1pm to 5:00 pm at Homestead Whittington Farm in Brookhaven.
Doneyel’s warmth and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
