RUTH — One man died as a result of a car accident at the intersection of MS-583 and Cole Drive on Christmas night. Mississippi Highway Patrol reported the accident was a two vehicle crash. 

Mississippi Highway Patrol has worked five wrecks in the past three days in Lincoln County. The wreck on MS-583 at Cole Drive occurred around 6:38 p.m. 

According to MHP, a 2002 Chevrolet Impala driven by 29-year-old Anthony Rollings of Brookhaven was traveling south on MS-583 when it collided with a 2012 Toyota Tundra driven by 44-year-old Geneva Waterman of Brookhaven who was traveling north. 

Rollings received fatal injuries from the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
