BROOKHAVEN — ALDI’s new store in Brookhaven is starting to come together. The company has not officially announced an opening date yet.
According to ALDI’s PR team Zeno Group, they are excited to share that the new store will open in Brookhaven by the end of the year but could not provide any further details. One reader asked if ALDI would have coupon inserts in the paper. Zeno Group did not give an answer.
David Fearn, City of Brookhaven Building Inspector, said when he spoke with ALDI last month their plans were to open either in the last week of November or the first week of December. He has not heard an update from the company since then.
ALDI has not offered much information about the new store. The company did confirm it would sell a selection of craft beer.
Readers also asked about Popeyes in Brookhaven. The restaurant is closed after an electrical fire did significant damage to the electric system. Brookhaven Fire Chief Jeff Ainsworth told The Daily Leader last week the damage was not visible but Popeyes would be closed for business until repairs were made.
Fearn said he has not heard from Popeyes on a timeline for when they plan to make repairs and reopen.
