The Mississippi School of the Arts in Brookhaven is preparing for Halloween thrills and a modern interpretation of a classic Greek play.

On. Friday-Saturday, Oct. 25-26, MSA will present Artoberfest, a fall festival with haunted tours at the Lampton Auditorium on MSA campus. From 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. each night, the festival will feature concessions, caricatures, films, a Charlie Brown pumpkin photo op, live music, “Thriller” dance, and a performance from students. Cost is $8 per adult and $5 for children age 12 and under.

Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 7-9, MSA theater will present a “Eurydice,” a drama by Sarah Ruhl. The play is a modernization of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus, as told through the eyes of his love Eurydice, who disappears on their wedding day. Performances are 7 p.m. nightly in the Enochs Theatre on campus, and tickets are $5 per adult and $2 per students. Anyone from birth through high school, as well as currently-enrolled college students, can attend for the student price.
