BROOKHAVEN — Whether you’re coming for the golf, the relaxation or the views, the Porches offers a perfect getaway at the Clubs at Ole Brook.

As construction wraps up on the new hospitality venue, developer John Lynch is excited about the options the bungalows bring to the market.

Designed to be available for day rentals or for weekend getaways, the eight bungalows offer one or two bedrooms. Each bungalow at The Porches features a modern design with a long back porch facing the east so guests can watch a gorgeous sunrise and a front porch facing the west for sunsets.

And, for the golf enthusiast, the Porches are an ideal getaway.

“We would like to have people who come in for the weekend to have an alternative to a a traditional franchise hotel,” Lynch said. “Guys could go out for a golf outing while their wives hang out. They can enjoy Brookhaven and stay out here.”

Lynch said development will eventually include a plunge pool and synthetic putting green between the bungalows and golf course, along with fire pits and an area for bocce ball.

Lynch said the development came from his travels, during which he saw other stay-and-play opportunities at golf courses. And, with no more room for Lynch’s Inn on Whitworth to expand, the bungalows provide another rental option for visitors. For him, the development also contributes to the quality of life in Brookhaven and Lincoln County, which is important.

“To compete with other towns, Brookhaven needs good hospitals, good restaurants and good schools. The golf club and everything else is all about a higher quality of life,” Lynch said. “That is where I participate. If you help the quality of life, it has to work as a business.”

He explained the course has to be nice enough for people to want to come play. The Porches are one piece of the puzzle for improving The Clubs at Ole Brook.  A newly renovated parking lot, new irrigation systems and cart paths, along with aesthetic improvements are other components in the puzzle added by Lynch since he bought the club in 2020. And Lynch credits course general manager Jeff Henning with implementing the vision. “He gives everything to make this a great place,” Lynch said.

The Porches are located at 1810 N. Jackson St. People can book a stay at The Porches online. One bedroom bungalows average $185 daily rate and two bedroom bungalows average a $227.50 daily rate, although several units are under contract for corporate rentals.
