BROOKHAVEN — While residents were in church for Wednesday night prayer meetings, Brookhaven Firefighters responded to two mobile homes on fire. The structures were abandoned and had already been burned once, Fire Chief Jeff Ainsworth said. 

Ainsworth said the call came in at 6:29 p.m. and firefighters cleared the scene on Hawk Trail at 9:42 p.m. Hawk Trail is located just off of Sawmill Lane. 

“Two mobile homes were set on fire. They weren’t being lived in. We were over there getting it under control,” Ainsworth said. “It will be under investigation.” 

Ainsworth said he would meet with the Brookhaven Fire Investigator Leslie Falvey Thursday. We will provide an update on if the investigation is turned over to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
