Fallen Officer: Lincoln County’s Troy Floyd will be laid to rest Tuesday

BROOKHAVEN — Slain Summit Police Officer Troy Floyd will be laid to rest Tuesday afternoon. Funeral and visitation for the Brookhaven native and Lincoln County resident will start Tuesday morning.
Guy’s Ole Brook Pharmacy, where Floyd’s wife Sage worked, announced it will be closed Tuesday from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. The company said it would pause “To remember the extraordinary life and service of fallen officer, Troy Floyd, and to support our pharmacy family.”
Public visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bethel Temple Pentecostal Church at 1610 Caleb Drive, Brookhaven. Funeral service will start at 2 p.m. with graveside services at Bethel Temple Cemetery.
Floyd was killed in the line of duty last Thursday. His body was escorted to the Mississippi State Medical Examiner’s Office in Pearl and brought back home to Lincoln County Thursday evening.
Brookhaven paid tribute to Floyd Friday including Bertha’s Flower Shop who donated free ribbons to first responders.
