BROOKHAVEN — It was a warm Brookhaven Farmer’s Market and a packed one. People were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to see a visiting exhibit from the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.
Sabrina Cummings with the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks spoke to children about the alligator hides, skull, turtle shell and black bear hide on her table. She explained to a crowd of excited children about Mississippi’s native Black Bear population and how Louisiana will have a new hunting season meaning the population had bounced back from low levels.
