Cooling rain settles in Brookhaven

BROOKHAVEN — Power is out for a handful of Lincoln County residents Thursday morning. A normal thunderstorm moved through the area with no severe weather threats although those threats could come Friday.
Entergy reports 0 customers are without power in Lincoln or Copiah Counties as of 9:10 a.m. Southwest Electric reports 15 customers in Lincoln County are without power and 69 customers in Copiah County are without power. Magnolia Electric reports 12 customers are without power.
Rain, storms coming
National Weather Service in Jackson warns of severe storms coming Friday. The storms could pose a marginal threat to Brookhaven and Lincoln County.
Isolated storms are possible, damaging wind gusts could come with the storms along with hail up to a quarter in size. Timing of the storms could be between Friday evening and Saturday morning.
Thursday has a 50 percent chance of rain. Otherwise, it will be partly sunny with a high of 86 and a calm wind reaching 5 mph. Low temperatures Thursday could get down to 66.
Friday has a 50 percent chance of rain during the day and 30 percent chance at night. NWS Jackson forecasts the high Friday to be 86 with a low of 67.
The best chance of rain comes Saturday and Sunday with 60 percent and 50 percent chances of rain.
