No spring fair, Ag Days will continue

BROOKHAVEN — Lincoln Civic Center is starting to host a variety of events on a regular basis under the direction of Chaston Bullock. One event did not fit into the schedule this year, the spring fair.
Bullock said there were a mixture of factors for why the spring fair did not return this year. It was canceled last year and was not rescheduled . One of the factors was scheduling conflicts with the promoter.
“Spring Fair was never scheduled for this year. It had poor participation in the past and we have a lot going on. We just couldn’t justify having it,” Bullock said. “We will still have the fall fair and at least have one fair a year. The dates didn’t work out with the promoter last year.”
An interactive google calendar on the Lincoln Civic Center website shows months full of events and private parties. For example, Circus Pop The Giant Bubble Show, which was postponed in January due to inclement weather, will be held Wednesday evening at the multi-purpose building. Show times are at 5 and 7:30 p.m. while prices range from $6 to $28.
A separate interactive google calendar shows the Civic Center’s events at the rodeo arena. Ag Day will be held on June 21. Last year, kids had the chance to get up close and personal with animals and see vintage tractors.
