SUMMIT — Jayla Harris, a Hazlehurst native, was the first female participant in the James Davis Battle of Mississippi-All Star game this year. She currently attends Hazlehurst Middle School.

Jayla’s love and passion for football led to her wanting to play. She got the opportunity to play football when she joined the Southeastern Saints in the Brookhaven Football League.

Coaches reported that while Harris is on the field she gives 100 percent effort in every game. She played in the James Davis Battle of Mississippi All-Star Game at Southwest Community College this year.
