Brookhaven Academy hosts South State Championship tonight

BROOKHAVEN — For the first time in program history, Brookhaven Academy Boys Soccer will host a South State Championship game with a trip to the MAIS Division II State Championship on the line. East Rankin will make the trip down for the match.
Brookhaven Academy is 20-1 with the only loss of the season on the road at East Rankin in a penalty shootout. East Rankin lost to BA 3-1 in Brookhaven later on in the season. The Patriots had to beat Oak Forest last week in a penalty shootout to advance to the South State finals.
The Cougars have been dominant this season scoring 136 goals and conceding 19. Yojan Hernandez leads the team in scoring with 33, Cooper Strickland has 32, Noah Fisher-Butler has 29 goals. Fisher-Butler leads the team in assists with 33, Strickland has 17 and Jesus Antonio has 15 assists.
Goalkeeper Ben Watts kept eight clean sheets this season and Matt Newman kept one.
Brookhaven Academy Head Coach Alex Brown said kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
