Wade Anderson Hampton

Wade Anderson Hampton, born Sept. 7, 1978, passed away Jan. 18, 2024, at home unexpectedly in New Orleans leaving behind family members and many dear friends, both old and new, who will cherish the memories left behind.
Wade served in the USN aboard the USS Carl Vinson as they led the war on terrorism in Afghanistan, “letting the world know that terrorism is unacceptable in today’s society.” During Operation Enduring Freedom, he arrived in the Persian Gulf on Sept. 12, 2001. He served honorable while on the Carl Vinson, earning both the Navy Achievement Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal.
After his service, Wade moved to New Orleans to express his more artful talents working in the film industry on many movies, TV shows and series, such as “Roots,” “NCIS,” “Daisy Jones and the Six,” and more recently one that isn’t yet “in the can” but will resume production this spring.
Survived by his mother, Sandralyn Anderson Hampton; father, James Gideon Hampton Jr. and step-mother Kate Hampton; sister, Shawna Lyn Hampton; step-brothers, Will and his wife, Kinsey, and Jeffrey Varas; step-sister, Bess Varas; step-niece, Eden Adams; nephew, Kai Riddle; niece, Emma Riddle; uncle, Rick Anderson; aunts, Kathy Anderson, Judy Patterson, Pam Perkerson, and Lisa Hampton; and many cousins.
A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, 1 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Brookhaven, MS.
