BROOKHAVEN — Winter Storm Heather has dropped sleet and freezing rain in Brookhaven Monday night. The chilly conditions have closed one road in Lincoln County.

Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency announced the bridge on Industrial Park Road is closed at this time due to slippery conditions and ice build up. The bridge goes over the railroad in Brookhaven.

Road conditions in Northwest Lincoln County remain clear at this time but could become slick into the night and early morning. Sleet is starting to build up in yards and on vehicles.

Lincoln County EMA warns that bridges and roadways are very slick in they city and county. Drivers should be cautious if they must get on the roadways.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop M reported three accidents on Interstate 55 Monday evening. None of these accidents resulted in injuries and were all between 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
