Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers have been working several wrecks across the state’s highways and interstates Tuesday.

Troop M troopers have worked several throughout the day on the north- and southbound sides of Interstate 55 in Lincoln and Pike counties. At times, troopers have had to temporarily close off one or both lanes on either side of the interstate to deal with wreck clean-up.

Troop M Cpl. Craig James advises motorists to expect lane closures, delays, and less than normal response times if traveling.

“Please stay of the roadways, if possible,” he said.
