BROOKHAVEN — Construction continues at the location of Brookhaven’s Starbucks Franchise. The coffee shop based out of Seattle, Washington is opening a new location in front of Paul Barnett Nissan at 879 Brookway Boulevard.

Work began in June with the demolition of Speedee Cash and the subsequent framing of the Starbucks. Brookhaven Building Inspector David Fearn said he does not have an update on when the coffee shop will open.

The exterior looks complete with glass, painted walls. All that is missing on the exterior is a sign out front and a paved parking lot and drive thru.

Across the street, T.J. Maxx is officially open but Five-Below has yet to open after both companies announced they were coming to Brookhaven.  

Rumors have circulated that Five-Below is not coming to Brookhaven after all but there is no official update. Fearn said he had not heard any changes in plans from Five-Below.
