3 local students selected MEP Youth Leaders

Three Brookhaven students are among the five selected to attend the annual Magnolia Electric Power Youth Leadership Seminar in Jackson, and a take a trip to Washington D.C.
Following Cooperative University and the interview process, a panel of judges selected five from the 22 students interviewed: Mya Edwards and Trent Owens of Brookhaven High School, Emme Barrett of Brookhaven Academy, Ann Elise Gatlin of Parklane Academy, and Ariyanna Simmons of North Pike High School.
These students will attend a Leadership Training Seminar in Jackson Feb. 21-23, 2024, and will travel to Washington June 15-21, 2024. All expenses are covered for both trips by MEP.
“As always, we would like to express our appreciation to all the area schools and the students for their participation,” an MEP release stated. “It is our honor to recognize each student who participated for their achievements and contributions to their communities. It is Magnolia Electric Power’s goal to continue this program in the future with the help of our schools. Together, we can recognize and help shape the future leaders of our communities.”
