Dense fog advisory issued for Saturday

BROOKHAVEN — National Weather Service in Jackson issued a Dense Fog advisory for Saturday. The advisory comes a few days after a major pileup in New Orleans caused by a “super fog,” killed eight people.

A Fog advisory will be in effect from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday in neighboring Lincoln, Copiah, Lawerence and Jefferson Davis Counties. The advisory warns of hazardous driving conditions.

NWS Jackson recommends people slow down and use their headlights while driving Saturday. Remember to leave a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Visibility is expected to drop to a quarter of a mile or less in this dense fog.

A similar dense fog warning was issued for Pike, Amite and Walthall Counties tonight from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday.
