West Lincoln senior outside linebacker/defensive end Ryan Purdy helped his Bears teammates make some big stops on Friday against Sylva-Bay Academy. Purdy had four tackles for a loss, including two sacks, as the Bears held off Sylva-Bay Academy for a thrilling 15-14 win.

Purdy spent much of his night at the end of the line, standing as a defensive end against Sylva-Bay. He also spent plenty of time in the SBA backfield as he was credited with 10 tackles and another quarterback hurry. His sacks went for 21 yards lost by the visiting Saints from Sylva-Bay.

A player that continues to grow in height and confidence, Purdy stands near 6-foot-6 and towers over many of his West Lincoln teammates. The Bears will be back on the road this Friday when they travel to face Bogue Chitto in a Region 7-2A matchup.
