Brookhaven High names new principal

BROOKHAVEN — Ole Brook will be led by a new principal this year. Stacy Walker left the position to become director of Assessment and Accountability at Brookhaven School District. 

Shonique McLaurin, a Bude native and Franklin County Alumni, will step into the role. She studied Biochemistry at Alcorn State University and served as a teacher and counselor in the Brookhaven School District. 

Brookhaven School District announced the hire Friday morning. McLaurin was a biology teacher first in 2013 before serving as a counselor in 2018 and eventually an assistant principal at Brookhaven High School.
