Weather: Lincoln County, prep for … sunny skies?
Published 10:00 am Friday, June 23, 2023
Residents of Lincoln County and surrounding areas can enjoy sunny weather all day Friday, with no chance of precipitation forecast for the day or night.
The high will be 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Jackson, and the low will be 68, as a few clouds may skim across the skies.
But just because there’s no rain in the forecast does not mean people will stay dry. The humidity remains — 67 percent, with a dewpoint of 67 degrees, equaling a relative humidity of 100 percent. That means it may feel muggier than it is.
Rain could be back on Saturday afternoon, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Skies otherwise should be sunny with a high near 94. The heat index may reach 102, so anyone working or playing outdoors should take care to remain hydrated, take breaks, and use sunscreen as needed. A mild breeze of about 5 mph may provide brief relief from the heat.
Sunny, mostly clear skies are expected to continue through Sunday, with the high reaching 95 and the breeze remaining the same.
Monday and Tuesday will bring a 30 percent and 20 percent chance, respectively, of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoons.
The rest of the week is forecasted to be sunny and hot, with temps reaching just shy of triple digits.
