Co-Lin forces decisive game in national championship series

PHOTO BY CO-LIN SPORTS INFO Freshman pitcher Cara Biswell gave up just one hit on Tuesday as the No. 5 seeded team from Copiah-Lincoln CC rolled past Lansing CC 8-0 in the opening round of the NJCAA Division II National Softball Tournament.

SPARTANBURG, SC — Co-Lin Community College forced the decisive game for the national championship with a 10-5 win Friday night. The Wolfpack had 11 hits and overcame three errors to win the game against the Bobcats.

Co-Lin will play for a national softball title in the NJCAA World Series in against Jones College in game two of the title series. The Wolfpack have had a busy Friday and will played their third game of the day in the first game of the series.

Friday’s action began with a 5-3 loss for Co-Lin against Jones College forcing them to play in a must win game against the Des Moines Community College Bears. Co-Lin’s Abby Grace Richardson clobbered a three run home run to set the single season home run record in a 10-3 victory to advance to the national title game.
