A former Daily Leader All-Area soccer selection has found her new soccer home.
Brookhaven High graduate Taylor Levy recently wrapped up her community college soccer career with Southwest Mississippi CC in Summit and has signed a letter-of-intent to next play the game at Division I member school Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Alabama.
Last season as a sophomore for Southwest, Levy started in 12 of 13 matches for head coach Zach Mills.
Levy played for Kevin Bower and Dustin Bairfield during her career at Brookhaven High School and as a senior, she was named to the inaugural All-Area girls’ soccer team.
A defender, she’s a Veterinary Science major who’ll be joined by her teammate from Southwest, Ashlinn Palm, at Alabama A&M.
“It’s crazy,” said Levy in a release by Southwest to announce her signing. “I’m really appreciative to be given this opportunity because I never thought that I would go to a DI. I’m in shock still, it seems surreal.”
