Two students from Bogue Chitto recently served as a page for the Mississippi Senate. Pages generally run errands for officials and Senate staff.

Brother and sister Jack and Sophia Cooksey both worked as pages, sponsored by Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann Jr. Their parents are Chris and Allison Cooksey and they are homeschooled.

“I have enjoyed this week so much and I really have enjoyed seeing all parts of our beautiful capitol,” Jack said. “I have learned so much about all the work the senators do to pass a bill. I am very grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank the legislators for letting me be able to do this. I would definitely like to come back.”

“I am thankful for the opportunity to have served our senators this past week,” Sophia said. “I enjoyed learning more about how the Senate works. I also enjoyed the trip to the Supreme Court and learning more about the judicial system.”
