Co-Lin’s Miller inks with the Blazers

The Belhaven University softball team had a season to remember in 2022. The Blazers finished
41-8 overall and won the ASC regular season and tournament titles before losing in the NCAA
Division III super-regional round to no. 2 Texas Lutheran.
To maintain that level of success, Belhaven head coach Kevin Griffin and his staff must reload
with talent ahead of next season.
The Blazers picked up a big piece of that reloading effort recently with the addition of Copiah-
Lincoln catcher Madi Miller.
A graduate of Brookhaven High, Miller was an All-Area selection in softball for coach Mandy
Vinson as a high schooler while also having a standout career on the soccer pitch as well at BHS.
This season as a sophomore she earned MACCC Second Team All-Conference honors after
finishing second on the team with 58 hits in 2022 for Co-Lin. Miller finished with a .367 batting
average while driving in 18 runs and stealing 14 bases for the MACCC champions in Wesson
this season.
Miller played in 42 games as a freshman and has also seen time in right field during her career.
“I expect to see Madi do big things at Belhaven,” said CLCC head coach Meleah Howard in a
release by the school. “She’s a natural leader on and off the field and always has such a positive impact on everyone that she’s around. I am proud of her and her accomplishments.”
