12 counties report damage from midweek storms

Twelve counties so far have reported damage during the severe weather on Wednesday, April 13.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency has received reports of homes damaged, trees downed and power outages. Three injuries have been reported, all in Tippah County.
Counties reporting damage to-date are: Bolivar, DeSoto, Humphreys, Lauderdale, Leflore, Noxubee, Rankin, Scott, Smith, Sunflower, Tippah and Warren.
Residents who sustained damage to their homes are encouraged to report it by using MEMA’s self-report tool at MSEMA.org.
The MEMA Call Center is open for those who need resources following the severe weather. The center is open 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday. Call 800-445-6362 for assistance.
