The Mississippi State Department of Health says that vaping and Mississippi youth are getting too cozy with each other.
The department reports that e-cigarette use (vaping) has gained an increasing foothold among Mississippi high-schoolers, with one in five students in public high schools reporting that they vape.
Vaping with some devices can deliver highly addictive nicotine directly to the lungs, which can have effects on the whole body.
MDES provides a fact sheet so that parents, schools and communities can help youth quit e-cigarettes. They also have a resource just for teens.
Teens interested in quitting can text VAPEFREEMS to 88709 for free, confidential help.
