The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars and coach Ron Kessler moved to 16-1 on the season Saturday with a 49-37 win over Presbyterian Christian School of Hattiesburg.

It was the first loss of the season for PCS and makes their record 15-1. Presbyterian Christian won the boys contest by a final score of 69-36.

Leading BA in scoring in the girls’ win was junior forward Lillie Gates with 17 points and six rebounds.

Senior point guard Anne Brantley Warren added nine points and four rebounds for the Lady Cougars. Senior Madison Moak added eight points, Bailee Goodson scored five points, Emily Claire Felder scored four points, Abby Grace Richardson added four points and Emma Gates rounded out the BA scoring with two points.

BA will travel to play at Parklane Academy on Thursday and at Adams County Christian School on Saturday. A previously scheduled game against Clinton Christian on Friday has been canceled.
