Brookhaven Municipal Court judge takes oath of office

New City of Brookhaven municipal judge Louwlynn Vanzetta “Van” Williams was sworn in to the position Wednesday morning in the Lincoln County Chancery Court boardroom. Judge Joseph Durr administered the oath.
Williams was hired by the Board of Aldermen during the Oct. 7 board meeting. A Jackson-based attorney, Williams is also an adjunct professor at Mississippi College.
City board attorney Bobby Moak was hired by aldermen at the July 20 meeting. A former member of the Mississippi Legislature, Moak is a Bogue Chitto-based attorney.
Vicksburg-based attorney Ikeecia Colenberg was hired by the board as city prosecutor Sept. 21. Colenberg also serves as county prosecuting attorney for Jefferson County and University Title IX coordinator for Alcorn State University.
