Police are investigating a Sunday break-in in downtown Brookhaven.
Early Sunday, an officer was stopped by a citizen who said they had seen a broken glass door at 129 West Cherokee St.
Upon investigation, it was determined that a laptop computer and other computer equipment was missing.
“We ask that every business in that area check their security cameras for any suspicious activity and report that to us,” Chief Kenneth Collins said.
Collins said BPD advises any business or resident in the city to make sure their property is well-lit and has at least one camera, if budgets permit.
“It’s worth the protection and the added level of security,” Collins said. “If every business would organize and overlap each other, it would help law enforcement.”
BPD is also investigating an April 15 burglary at 513 Brookman Drive where a window was broken out.
Anyone with information on either case is asked to call BPD at 601-833-2424.
