Thursday night fire was controlled burn

Photo by Brett Campbell / A fire burning just south of Hwy. 84 and east of I-55 Thursday night caused concern for passing motorists, but was confirmed by Brookhaven Fire Department as a controlled burn.

A burning field caused some motorists concern Thursday evening as they passed the intersection of Interstate 55 and Hwy. 84.

The fire was only a controlled burn, the Brookhaven Fire Department confirmed.
