Happy Black Friday to everyone! Don’t forget your umbrella, if you plan to venture out for a little holiday shopping today and through the weekend. Above is a historic photo of downtown Brookhaven from the 1930s. Looks a little like a heavy shopping day with every parking space filled.

Rain chances return today as a warm front lifts north, with high temperatures near 70 degrees. Scattered storms with damaging winds are possible for Brookhaven and Lincoln County.

Cloudy skies will remain for Saturday, but an approaching cold front will bring drier and cooler, with highs in the lower 60s. For Sunday, more thunderstorms and heavy rain return with up to 2 inches of rainfall possible ins some areas.
