A week after having their game at Natchez High stopped at halftime Wesson got to play all four quarters as they rolled over the Bulldogs.

The Cobras (2-0) will make their home debut Friday night as they take on county rival Hazlehurst in Wesson.

Lake 34, Bogue Chitto 21

The Lake Hornets led 20-7 at halftime Friday night as Bogue Chitto could never grab a lead in Scott County.

Coach Gareth Sartin and his Bobcats faced a tough Lake program that finished 8-3 last year and has a reputation for playing physical football.

Next week the Bobcats (0-2) are back at home hosting the Puckett Wolves.

Pisgah 35, Loyd Star 18

The Pisgah Dragon ground game was too much for the young Loyd Star Hornets Friday night in Sand Hill.

Coach Brian Ford and his team trailed 21-6 at halftime.

Loyd Star (1-1) is on the road for a trip to face Ethel High next week. The schools are separated by 136 miles but have a connection in that former Loyd Star assistant Adam Smith is a first-year head coach at Ethel.

Puckett 31,

West Lincoln 24

The Puckett Wolves held off West Lincoln Friday night in Rankin County.

Puckett led 7-6 after the first quarter in a game that was delayed for a long time by lightning. The final horn didn’t sound until after 11 p.m.

Last season Puckett won 60-57 in a shootout at West Lincoln.

Friday night the Bears tried to make a comeback as they cut the lead to one-point in the fourth quarter before Puckett was able to salt away the win.

West Lincoln (1-1) and coach Brad Bland are back in Flea Hop on Friday as they host Madison-St. Joseph.
