Brookhaven Academy junior quarterback Tyler Fortenberry tossed four scores — two going to senior receiver Rob Johnson — as the Cougars in blue defeated the Cougars in orange from Columbia Academy 43-26 in Marion County Friday night.

CA jumped up 6-0 after running the opening kickoff back 95-yards.

A 53-yard pass from Fortenberry to Johnson put BA up 7-0 and then a 41-yard toss from Fortenberry to his cousin Dylan made the Cougar lead 14-6 late in the first quarter.

Another Johnson TD catch, a Luke Johnston scoring run and a Tyler Fortenberry 1-yard keeper gave BA a cushion late.

Tyler Fortenberry finished 23-of-27 through the air for 412 yards and four scores. Johnson caught four passes for 125 yards and a pair of TDs.

Senior Collin Waldrop snagged an interception for the Cougars.

Next week, BA and coach Ron Rushing  host Centreville Academy in a game that will be played at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson.
