L. Ralph Smith

An outdoor memorial service will be held for L. Ralph Smith, 10 a.m., at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Saturday, August 22, 2020. A slide presentation will begin prior to the service, at 9 a.m. for friends and family.

L. Ralph Smith, of Brookhaven, passed from this life at home on Saturday, August 8, 2020. He was born September 3, 1931, to Ruby and Theodore Smith. His parents were the original owners of Bob’s Sandwich Shop, which was then called Marshall’s.

Ralph attended Wesson School and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in geology. He worked in the oil field as a geologist and engineer most of his life.

He was a dedicated member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, long time member of the Lion’s Club, and served his community in a multitude of ways. He loved unconditionally and will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Theodore Smith Jr. and Buddy Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Smith; son, Ralph B. Smith, of Cortez, CO; daughters, Beverly “Susie” S. Lee, of Austin, TX, and Minna S. Jackson, of Brookhaven, MS; he is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
