Funeral services for Mr. Versie W. Kimble Jr. will be on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, Mississippi, at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, from noon until 1 p.m.

Mr. Kimble, 78, of McCall Creek, Mississippi, passed from this life on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, at Southwest Mississippi Cardiovascular Institute in McComb, Mississippi, with his loving family by his side. He was born on Jan. 6, 1941, in Lincoln County, Mississippi, to Versie William Kimble Sr. and Bertha Kinsley Kimble. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and worked for 40 years in the oilfield industry and retired as a tool pusher. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, welding, home projects and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all he met. He loved helping his neighbors.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Versie and Bertha Kimble; and brother A. D. Kimble.

Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Juanita M. Kimble; son, Dr. William Kimble and wife, Sonya; daughter Vickie Kimble Young and husband, Terry; grandchildren, Matthew Landon Young, Daniel Weston Young and wife, Chelsea, Kristin Kimble Chesteen and husband, Rhine, and William Ryan Kimble; great-granddaughter, Olivia Rhine Chesteen; brother Edward Kimble and sister, Louise Thibodeaux; and a host of family and friends.
